My name is Vicki Ronchette and I live in the SF Bay Area with my husband and our canine and feathered menagerie. I have lived with Dachshunds since 1993. I bred and showed Standard Dachshunds and now focus on our Miniature Smooth Dachshunds. I founded the Golden Gate Dachshund Rescue and have fostered and rehomed many Dachshunds of all sizes and varieties. We have owned and loved many Dachshunds and finished many Champions in the breed of our own and for other people.
In 2015 I decided to venture into another breed and I obtained my first Löwchen, Cannoli. After finishing Cannoli's championship, I welcomed Jäger, a male Löwchen who was imported from Australia. Jäger finished his Championship and Grand Championship easily and ended his career #2 owner-handled Löwchen and #11 Löwchen, all breed. He is now a retired and much loved companion here at Sugar Plum - Braveheart. We bred Cannoli and kept two of her daughters, Champion Moneypenny and Merriweather. While we do enjoy this breed and enjoy the four we have, we are no longer breeding Löwchen, but we are happy to be able to refer people looking for Löwchen to our amazing breeder friends.
In addition to being a breeder of Dachshunds, I am the owner of Show Dog Prep School and I am the author of Positive Training for Show Dogs, From Shy to Showy, Ready? Set. SHOW! and the co-author of Litter Evaluations - The Planning, the Process, the Picks.
Our small breeding program generally produces a litter or two a year. The breed usually has smaller litters, but we sometimes have puppies available to companion, show and sport homes.
Our companion puppies (meaning they won't be shown) are sold on a limited registration.
Our price for our puppies is generally $2500. We do not ship puppies unaccompanied or without having met the new owners. Therefore, any puppies going to homes outside of our immediate area will have to be picked up by their owners at either Oakland International Airport or San Francisco International Airport.
